Currently designing: iOS mobile app for Ontada (McKesson's Oncology Technology business). Based in San Francisco, California.
What kind of designer am I?
My work lies at the intersection of product design and research. I broke into UX through my love for solving problems and experimentation. I attribute my attention to detail and business acumen to my experience working in the healthcare and banking industry over the past 5 years. My design process has changed over time to adapt to working in industry. For one, by understanding how business goals coincide with our users' needs, I have learnt to take more of an abductive approach versus inductive in how I synthesize research. Most of products I've shipped to date have primarily been built mobile-first and I was involved in these projects from conception to delivery. Outside of work I am highly interested in designing for voice and bitcoin.
Oncologists spend more than half of their day on documentation. Their days are spent tethered to the desktop, where this time could better spent on patient care. We designed an EMR which liberates physicians from their desktops and helps deliver care at the point of need.
We worked closely with Apple and our new iOS development team to translate our vision for iKnowMed into a fully functional mobile app built using SwiftUI. Our app enables physicians to quick access critical information and take action when rounding or on-call.
What does it mean to be inspired? In a society where people over-consume digital media, it is hard to find good content. We aimed to address this issue by tailoring experiences for all.
Messing up on a bill payment is a constant fear and extremely stress inducing. We developed an end-to-end process for making the recovery and returns process quick and simple.
Traditionally, banking is seen as a boring, dated, and unappealing. How can we introduce our new generation to banking in a way that gets them excited about saving money?
